AR filters from a growth perspective are revolutionary. Let me explain. When you have created a filter on Instagram, all of your followers will be able to use it directly from their story camera. It will appear as an option they can select when swiping right.
This means that if even 10% of the people that follow you use the filter, thousands of stories could be posted. It could get views from millions of other users that do not follow your account. A percentage of these people will then try the effect and the cycle repeats. In some cases this can lead to exponential growth.
With a filter, your username is displayed next to the filter name. All the people who view a story with a filter applied to it will have a direct link to the Instagram profile who uploaded it.
